The Chhattisgarh State Finance Commission on Monday launched a web portal and mobile app to simplify the process of collecting data from gram panchayats.
The portal and application were launched in Jashpur Jila Panchayat conference hall in the presence of MP Jashpur Vinay Bhagat. Former Chief Secretary Serjius Minj chaired the program.
The State Finance Commission is constituted every five years to strengthen the economic standing of Panchayati Raj institutions and local urban bodies.
In order to make recommendations based on sufficient data and obtain the required information from Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies, the Commission has developed the SFC & Info web portal and mobile application.
Minj said the portal and app would facilitate online access to information from each panchayat. Based on the information received from 11,664 state panchayats, a database would be compiled to help on several levels.
Mr. LA Bhagat thanked the Chairman of the State Finance Commission for launching the portal for remote areas like Jashpur.
He said the data compiled through the portal would become the basis for the commission’s recommendations for the development of panchayats.
