web portal launched to help citizens rectify land records | Ranchi News

Ranchi: The Department of Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms has launched an online portal to help citizens correct errors in their land documents.
Director of Land Acquisition and Land Records, Jharkhand, Uma Shankar Singh, told TOI that many are unable to avail the programs of Jharbhoomi, an online land registration portal, due to documentation errors.
“Parishodhan, the online portal, was launched on April 15 to speed up and simplify the process of rectifying documents related to its land. The online system will simplify the process of entering and registering the khatiyan and amending erroneous or incorrect entries in the khatiyan and registration in the documentation portal,” he said.
“One can now request the correction of errors related to rent, including name, address, khata, land or area, online on the Parishodhan portal. Now people can raise their issues from home and would not have to make multiple visits to the circle office or district collector’s office,” Singh added.
Applicants will receive a trackable complaint number after submitting an online application. “The registered complaint will be forwarded to the appropriate officer and the complaint will be reflected on hold unless resolved.”
In the span of three days, the portal registered 288 complaints, “of which 55 are from Ranchi district, while 53 are each from Palamu and Hazaribagh,” he added.
The Tax and Land Reform Department has developed http://jharbhoomi.nic.in in association with the National Informatics Center (NIC) to digitize the land registration system.
With no data or errors in the records, many people were unable to access their land records and there was no provision for suggesting corrections – the new portal would help them register their objections/ corrections which, in due course, after verification, will reflect on Jharbhoomi.
