Google Home is getting a web portal for all your Nest Cam and Doorbell video streams

The building blocks of Google Home on the web

An important aspect of modern consumer technology is the ability to do what you want from where you want, when you want. But when it came to controlling your smart home appliances through Google home, users had to rely on the mobile app for the longest time. Not anymore with the company’s latest announcement.

Specifically, owners of Nest cameras and video doorbells are to be said that they will soon have access to live streams from their devices on home.google.com. They’ll be able to take full-screen streams one at a time, zoom in on certain views, and more.

Google Home on the web appears to support the entire camera-equipped Nest range. Here is the official list:

This marks the start of using the Google Home web domain for more than just a promotional destination site. It looks like the company is focusing on camera features at the moment, so we know what to expect down the road.

The big indicator of whether you can start using Google Home on the web is if there’s a sign-in link on the page. If you manage to sign in to the Google account associated with all your devices, that should be your signal. If you don’t see that link this time next week, contact customer support.

And if you don’t already have some of the best security cameras and video doorbellswell, we think a lot of Nests are pretty cool and worth at least your reading.
