Over one million registrants on the Ehsaas Rashan program web portal: Sania – Pakistan

HASSAN ABDAL: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar on Sunday said that more than one million people have successfully signed up for the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat program so far.

Up to 40 million people have submitted their data to the portal since the registration process began, she said in a media interview during her visit to Sheikh General Store in Hassan Abdal.

Giving details about the program, Dr Sania explained that an individual from the household can be registered under this program. A monthly grant of Rs.1000 / – will be given to each family.

Dr Sania said traders are massively sensitizing traders to use the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat program web portal.

She said that assistance will be given to 20 million families under this initiative in accordance with the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan by providing subsidies on flour, legumes and cooking oil or ghee. The grant of Rs. 22 will be given on flour, Rs. 105 on ghee and Rs. 55 on pulses, she said.

She said the current government prioritizes helping the masses and solving their problems.

Dr Sania said his division provides step-by-step advice to deserving families as well as grocery stores on the enrollment process and program eligibility.

She said that deserving beneficiaries will be identified through the survey of the Ehsaas National Socio-Economic Register. She said low-income families would register through the Ehsaas Rashan portal through their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and cell phone number issued on this CNIC. She said only one family member will be eligible to register on the portal. Likewise, grocers can also register on the portal. She stressed that it is important for grocery vendors to have a valid bank account and those who do not can open their bank accounts at the nearest branches of the National Bank of Pakistan. Licensed grocery stores that have bank accounts will download the Mobile Point of Sale (MPoS) app to their cellphones to track the eligibility of eligible buyers and pass on the subsidy.
